LA is the Biggest Anti-Sprawl Success Story in the US

Los Angeles is known for wide streets, gridlocked freeways, and lush lawns. However, according to several recent articles, the sprawl of Los Angeles really isn’t as bad as it’s reputation. On Wednesday, Curbed LA published an article citing Los Angeles’ culture and development change as “moving away from the care and the single-family house and toward transit and denser living”.

The article refers to a Smart Growth America report that found LA metro area is now the twenty-first least sprawly place in the US, and the seventh least sprawly among metropolitan areas with greater than one million residents.
